QI’m te:mpted to stop some of my medications because I feel worse when I take them. What should I do?
A:Medicine does its job in your body very effectively, but it could reduce the levels of vitamins you need for good health. I call medications that do this “drug muggers,” and in fact, that’s the title of my latest book, released last August. Don’t be frightened, it’s a good thing to know what drug mugger you take because you can find out which nutrients you need to restore. It’s like installing a nutrient security system that will allow you to continue taking the medications your physician ordered, but you’ll feel better and, hopefully, avoid some of those side effects.
Please be aware that all medications have the potential to reduce your body’s warehouse of certain nutrients, which is the reason for side effects in some people. In fact, natural herbs are drug muggers, too, and so is that glass of red wine you have at dinner, or that noontime cigarette and morning coffee. Follow along as I give you ground-breaking information so you know which nutrients you may need to restore. Allow me to introduce your medication to you in a whole new light (drum roll, please). Note: This is not a complete list, just a guideline.
