Prediabetes affects at least 54 million American

adults and increases the risk of diabetes by up

to 15 times. That’s why the American Diabetes

Association now recommends that even healthy

people ages 45 and older be routinely tested

for prediabetes. So, what can you do if you find

out you’re already on the road to diabetes?

According to one study of more than 2,000

people, losing at least 7% of body weight and

spending 30 minutes a day doing some type

of physical activity reduced the incidence of diabetes by 58%, more than most medications.
